Day Off

I took yesterday off from meditation and Tai Chi Chih. I can't say I feel better for it, although getting extra sleep was nice. I'll meditate and do Tai Chi Chih today.

20 minutes today

warmth in the arms, hands, thighs, and stomach, and a "feeling" of energy running up the back to the skull. Tai Chi Chih before hand helps...the easy movements wash back and forth, like waves hitting a beach and leaving...and relaxation flows.

Another Day

Did some tai chi chih earlier in the day, then, after dinner and playing with the kids, fell asleep. Woke up at around 11:30, and had the urge to meditate. Felt some particular sadness as one of our favorite stores, Wally's, is closing. Meditated for about 23 minutes, belly breathing and running the orbit in alternation. Saw some green and purple on the backs of my eyelids.

Wu Short Form

I'm changing the Wu short form to incorporate principles from tai chi chih. It seems more natural and the energy appears to flow better.

22 minutes today

Ran the orbit for 22 minutes. Did tai chi chih last night. Felt a lot of heat in my kidney area. Tai chi chih is arguably better than tai chi: I'm more relaxed, and energy flow seems to be more apparent, faster, and sustainable. It seems to take the thought out of tai chi...not having to worry about what sequence is next.

Switching to AM

Decided to switch to AM meditation - in an effort to try and sleep better at night. Logged 27 minutes. I'm amazed, and amused, at the amount of time I spend "dreaming" while in meditation, and my ability to recognize the dream, at the tail end or right after, as a dream. Am I (Was I) dreaming? Yes I am, Yes I was.

Day 9

Did another session of Tai Chi Chih. My numbers for exercise doubled tonight. It was entirely spontaneous and felt good. Seated meditation, on the other hand, was difficult. It seemed I could not, initially, get into the groove, my mind was wandering, and concentration was difficult. At about the 10 minute mark, something kicked in. As my abdomen filled with air, my concentration was propelled up my spine to the head, and then things dropped down the front of the body upon exhale. It was as if the abdomen was a pump that was connected to the flow of concentration, driving concentration up with expansion, and drawing it down with contraction. More tomorrow.

25 minutes

Did 10 minutes of tai chi chih and 25 minutes of seated meditation. Back of neck and arms / hands are warm, belly feels full.

Another Day Another 30 Minutes

Did Tai Chi Chih, then hit the chair for 30 minutes of meditation. Hands, legs, back, abdomen got warm at different points. So far, nothing strange or unusual beyond that.

Tai Chi Chih

Did Tai Chi Chih and then hit the chair for 25 minutes of meditation. Felt a palpable solid mass of warmth in the dan tien and my arms and legs are still warm, as is my back and chest. Good session.

Day 5

Logged 30 minutes. Again, feel somewhat energized. Mind tends to go quiet during meditation. As if conscious thought is quieting and ... and what .... some other part of the brain is becoming more active. It's sort of like dreaming...dreams feel like they come from some part of your brain that is enshrouded...deeper...darker...harder to see into and directly communicate with via, for example, language. I feel like I'm somewhere between totally conscious cerebral thinking and that harder to access, deeper, more uncommunicative layer.

Another Day Down

I didn't feel like doing this, but I'm glad I did. Warmth in the back and legs. Keep running the program. 28 minutes today!

25 Minutes

Logged 25 minutes today. The practice is definitely refreshing. When I'm practicing, at times, my body will spontaneously move, and at times, I feel like I'm somehow infinite energy, an energy cloud, similar to an electron in an infinite orbit, the size of the universe.

30 Minute Session

Did a 30 minute session today. Got warm. Shoulders are warm, hands and forearms are warm, chest is warm. Felt good, mind seemed more still than usual. The sessions are re-energizing. We'll see what 45 days leads to.

Day 3 of Glen Morris Meditation

I'm plugged into my I phone, listening to Glen, and the music. I was actually able to visualize colors as the feeling of nrg moved through different places on my microcosmic orbit...I'm not yet seeing colors on the backs of my eye lids but this is the second night of meditation where my body spontaneously started "pumping" energy along my spine. I find the meditation generally rejuvenates me...even though I face myself only because I have an awareness that I am mortal, and will die. I'm going to run this for 45 days straight and see what comes of it. Today's session was about 23 minutes.
